Hiring the Hut

Community groups and organisations may hire the hall of our Scout Hut on Flamsteed Road^{(click for map)} when it is not in use by our Scout Group by sending an email to the executive committee . The building is the property of the 28^th Cambridge Scout Group and the primary function of the building is to support the aims of the Scout Movement. Room hire helps to contribute to our running costs. It is managed by the Executive Committtee.

Location

Our hut is at the end of Flamsteed Road, on the right. Flamsteed road is the first road on the right off Rustat Road, which is off Cherry Hinton Road near Hills Road Bridge and Cambridge Leisure Park. Click for a Google Map.

Conditions of Hire

Fire

Make yourself aware of the fire exits, fire collection point. (by the front gate), fire extinguishers and Carbon Monoxide (CO) detectors. (See plan)

Utilities

Be aware of the utility access points. (Gas, Electric, Water - see plan)
Note (in the event of a fire) the storeroom contains gas cylinders. The building must be evacuated

Other Users

• Replace the furniture as detailed (See plan - chairs stacked up to 5 high and tables put back)
• Put all your equipment away in your agreed storage area.
• Put all your equipment away after every session. The Building is used after evening sessions and during the day.
• Recycle appropriately – fines incurred for incorrect recycling will increase costs.
• Bag up rubbish when bins are full and replace the bag from beneath the sink.
• Wash up, dry and put away any cutlery and crockery used.
• Respect others equipment and notice boards. (Note – there is a Barre hand-rail but it is for dancers use only)
• Use the cleaning materials as designated.
• No Smoking in the Building at any time.

Neighbours

• Please respect the neighbourhood and our neighbours.
• Please be quiet on leaving the building.
• The garages at the head of Flamstead Road are in regular use. Do not block.
• Do not park on the curbs or grass.

Security

• Always turn off heating when you leave the Building.
• Secure the doors, windows and gate when you leave.
• No vehicles in the grounds outside hire times.
